What: Hands Across the Sand

California is standing up for our coast. Join Sierra Club San Diego for Hands Across the Sand, a statewide day of action against expanded offshore oil drilling.

The movement began in 2010 after the BP oil disaster, when people joined hands on beaches to form symbolic barriers against spilled oil. Today, with new threats of offshore drilling expansion from the Trump administration, communities across California are rising up again.

Bring a friend, wear blue or ocean colors, and help create a powerful visual message: protect our ocean, protect our future.
