BEACH CLEANUP – Silver Strand

FreeSan Diego Coastkeeper and Surfrider Foundation San Diego will host a beach cleanup in Imperial Beach at Silver Strand State Beach this month. Parking will be FREE for all registered volunteers!
Choose Your Beach Camping Adventure
In addition to the beach cleanup, we’re asking community members like you to help determine the future of overnight accommodations at Silver Strand State Beach. Take the survey and tell us what would make the beach better, easier, and more affordable for you!
Survey participants will be eligible to win a private boat tour of San Diego Bay or a “California Explorer” Annual Day Use Parks Pass. For more information, read our blog post.
We’re excited about this program and the opportunities it will bring to San Diegans interested in affordable and accessible coastal camping. All people deserve the opportunity to explore & enjoy the natural beauty of California’s parks and beaches!
Beach Cleanup Information
The meetup spot will be on the sand before the second to the last parking lot. The final lot is an RV campground so stop before you see all the RVs & look for the blue Surfrider tents.

- Please wear comfortable clothes and sun protection.
- Each individual volunteer must register either ahead of time online HERE or on their smartphone the day of.
- Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian confirm their liability waiver through Golden before the minor can participate.
- If you have a group of 20 or more people, please contact [email protected] before the cleanup.
Weather Cancellation Policy
If it is lightly raining, we will hold the cleanup. If there are heavy rains, we will cancel the cleanup. To check the status of a cleanup, please see the San Diego Coastkeeper events calendar or visit us on social media.
