Ali joined Coastkeeper in June 2026 and supports the legal team and Executive Director in advancing their litigation and policy priorities.
Prior to Coastkeeper, she worked as the Program Coordinator at UC Irvine’s Research Justice Shop, supporting the Wildland-Urban Interface Climate Action Network (WUICAN), a unique coalition that was established through a grant from the University of California Office of the President. As WUICAN’s Program Coordinator, she provided programmatic support and capacity-building in establishing a diverse network encompassing universities, land managers, and community-based organizations to advance climate solutions in southern California.
Ali received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and Policy in 2020 from the University of California, Irvine. In 2023, she received her Master’s of Environmental Science and Management with specializations in Conservation Planning and Coastal and Marine Resource Management from UC Santa Barbara’s Bren School.
She is excited to contribute to clean water advocacy and strengthening protections for San Diego’s inland and coastal waters through her role as San Diego Coastkeeper’s Legal Program Manager. Outside of work, she loves painting, thrifting, being outside, and spending time with her friends.
