Watershed Watch- Chollas Creek + Otay River Water Sampling Day
July 15 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Free

Join our Chollas Creek and Otay River Water Quality Sampling Day, where volunteers will join our team to gather water samples and collect data at four (4) sites total within the Chollas Lake and Otay River. Volunteers will collect water samples and use different scientific instruments to gather data. Please bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection, hiking shoes (or closed-toed), and long pants. You might also want to bring hiking/athletic and water-resistant clothing. One team will join our Community Science Director, Laura Fuller, and our Community Science Coordinator, Camila Ruiz. The meet-up location is at Gompers Park, on the side of Carolina Lane.
PLEASE READ: Sign up at the link below or click here. *You must sign up through the volunteer platform.* This event is limited to the first four (4) volunteers who sign up. The first two (2) volunteers who sign up and attend this sampling event qualify to receive a $60 stipend given as a virtual Visa gift card.
If signups don’t appear for the sampling date, either the form hasn’t gone live or all slots have been filled. Please check 1-2 weeks before the event date.
Note: You must attend a training session before participating in a sampling field day. Please sign up below if you are interested in joining this program and getting trained! By signing up at https://sdcoastkeeper.galaxydigital.com/, you can watch the required training video and take the post-training quiz to qualify as a trained volunteer. You can then sign up for Water Quality Sampling events.
San Diego Coastkeeper staff will be driving volunteers to the sampling sites. For questions or concerns, email Lesly at [email protected]
