August 31 – Senator Kehoe, Assemblyman Fletcher Co-Host San Diego Coastkeeper’s Bipartisan Legislative Breakfast on Sept. 30

Tickets available for morning event focused on The State of Water in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, August 31, 2010- San Diego Coastkeeper®, the region’s leading environmental nonprofit protecting inland and coastal waters, will host its inaugural bipartisan Legislative Summit Breakfast co-hosted by Senator Christine Kehoe (D-San Diego) and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher (R-San Diego) at the UCSD Faculty Club’s Atkinson Pavilion on September 30 at 7:30 a.m. A ticketed event, the breakfast buffet will unite the state’s legislative delegation, the County Supervisors, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and San Diego City Council with leaders in business and the environmental sector for an overview of The State of Water in San Diego.

Tickets for the event are $30 for San Diego Coastkeeper members and $50 for non-members.

“We want San Diego to become the nation’s Clean Water Capital,” said San Diego Coastkeeper Executive Director Bruce Reznik. “It’s imperative we connect the community with its legislators for a real discussion about the state of water in San Diego to lay the groundwork for developing a proactive lawmaker agenda.”

Following the breakfast buffet, the Legislative Summit will continue with an invite-only session for the bipartisan delegation to delve further into the region’s most pressing water issues and solutions to our ensure San Diego’s water future. Some of the nation’s top scientists, ecologists and legal experts will report on the latest findings regarding San Diego’s water supply and watershed health.

Tickets to the Bipartisan Legislative Summit Breakfast can be purchased online at localhost/sdcoastkeeper. Tickets are $30 for San Diego Coastkeeper members and $50 for non-members. The invite-only session following the breakfast is not open to the public.
