SAN DIEGO, April 2, 2012 – San Diego Coastkeeper invites San Diegans to celebrate Earth Day by testing their environmental knowledge on April 19 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Raglan Public House in Ocean Beach. Sponsored by San Diego CityBeat, the event includes a water trivia contest, a raffle boasting many prizes and a chance to enjoy organic, local and sustainable food and service at Raglan. CityBeat editorial team duo David Rolland and Dave Maass create and host the four-part trivia series that includes multiple choice, picture matching, drawing and fill-in-the-blank challenges.

Focusing on environmental sustainability, Raglan Public House practices a “reduce and reuse” mantra and uses 100 percent organic beef on its burgers, which were voted the best in San Diego in 2006-2012.

“Coastkeeper proudly partners with Raglan Public House for our trivia event on Earth Day because supporting local, sustainably minded businesses is one of the best ways for San Diegans to think Earth first every day of the year,” said San Diego Coastkeeper Executive Director Gale Filter.

Coastkeeper invites residents join the fun for $10 a person. Teams of up to six people are allowed. Join at Raglan at 1851 Bacon St, Ocean Beach, San Diego, CA 92107 on Thursday from 7 pm. – 10 p.m. on April 19 for the ultimate Earth Day destination.

Also, in honor of Earth Day, Sprinkles Cupcakes invites planet lovers to get their Earth Day cupcake during the week of April 16 – 20. One hundred percent of proceeds will go to Coastkeeper to protect and restore fishable, swimmable and drinkable waters in San Diego County.

In addition to the Earth Day Trivia event, San Diego Coastkeeper invites San Diego residents to celebrate Earth Day with its Water Quality Monitoring and Moonlight Beach Cleanup on April 21. Along with the events, the organization offers sponsored cleanups, Beach Cleanup in a Box and boat tours for those interested in philanthropic and learning opportunities.
