Join the San Diego Bird Alliance and San Diego Coastkeeper at the San Diego River Mouth estuary. Help give back to a vibrant community of endangered plants, rare migratory and resident birds, and a variety of native habitats. During this event, volunteers will learn about how coastal dune habitats support important wildlife, and will contribute to shoreline resilience over time as sea levels rise. Assist with repairs of the protective dune fencing, as well as a cleanup activity, while discovering the incredible diversity in the nearby mudflats and dunes.
This site is easily accessible via bike, and is along the Ocean Beach Bikeway, as well as a few blocks away from the 35 bus route from Old Town Transit Station. The activity will mainly be held on sand.
