Lex Padilla joined San Diego Coastkeeper in September 2022 as a USD College Corps fellow. Her work supports our education program, teaching K-6 Project SWELL students.
After growing up watching the Flint water crisis unfold, Lex decided to pursue a degree in the environmental toxicology field. She is a junior studying Political Science and Chemistry at the University of San Diego, focusing her internship work and research on water quality research, environmental racism, and government policy.
When she’s not in the lab or the library, Lex can be found in the kitchen, baking and forcing her friends to taste-test her neverending creations. You can also find her rollerskating, working out at the gym, or FaceTiming with her dog.
