Dylan Berk beach-cleanup intern at San Diego Coastkeeper

Dylan is thrilled to join Coastkeeper for an internship during spring 2025. His previous experience working with environmental nonprofits has prepared him for the role of Beach Clean-Up Intern. Last summer, he assisted Climate Action Campaigns’s policy and outreach teams by creating a database of Climate Action Plans and partnering organizations as well as tabling at community events. During high school, Dylan created a zero waste campaign for his school district. He led a team of interns pitching the idea to the principal and deputy superintendent, designing the educational materials, and implementing the program. Additionally, as president of his school’s Interact and Emerald Keepers’ clubs, he coordinated student efforts for beach cleanups, garden meetings, and many other service events.

Born and raised in San Diego, Dylan is happy to call this beach community home. Spending time on the water taught him the importance of environmental justice and clean waterways. He admires the work of environmental nonprofits like Coastkeeper and plans on studying environmental economics and policy in college.
