Rachele joined San Diego Coastkeeper in September 2020 as the Science Program Manager. Her work focuses on science program development and design, and providing science and technical support to Coastkeeper’s education, outreach, and advocacy programs.

Rachele holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Texas A&M University and an M.A. in Peace and Justice from the University of San Diego. Prior to attending grad school, she was a Rural Aquaculture Agent with the US Peace Corps in Zambia for three years where she worked with communities on pond construction, fish production, and small business practices.

Before joining Coastkeeper, Rachele worked as the Environment Leadership Fellow for The Nonprofit Institute where she collected and analyzed environmental data and worked to improve outdoor leadership and youth engagement in San Diego. Rachele is passionate about uplifting and empowering BIPOC communities through the diversification of outdoor recreation and conservation. She is obsessed with the color yellow and is a proud plant mama.
