We are committed to maintaining the privacy of those who visit our web site. We have instituted the following privacy policy to ensure that any personal information you provide while visiting our site remains confidential. Any personal information submitted by you to our website, including name, address and financial information, is stored in a secure location and is accessible only by designated staff or contractors of San Diego Coastkeeper. This information may be shared with other members of the Waterkeeper Alliance and other organizations that share similar missions and concerns of San Diego Coastkeeper.

Information Collected

Your personal information is collected for several reasons, including the following:
  • to send you email alerts;
  • to answer your requests;
  • to let you become an online member;
  • to help us make our website more useful;
  • to track the number of visitors to our site;
  • to solicit donations.

Online Memberships
We have made every effort to insure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry accepted data collection and encryption methodologies. If you are still concerned about the safety of your credit card information online, you may also submit contributions or other payment to San Diego Coastkeeper by mailing a check as directed by instructions on the appropriate pages of our website.

Call to Action Alert
Information about visitors who take part in our “Call to Action” program is forwarded to the recipient of the alert – typically governmental officials. The information sent is limited to your name and address and never contains any financial information, including credit card numbers, which may be submitted to us for membership.

LOG FILES
Like most websites, San Diego Coastkeeper’s servers may record the numerical Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using; the browser software you use and your operating system; the time and date you access our site; and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site. San Diego Coastkeeper may contact you by email to communicate advocacy and educational messages and other information that may be of interest to users of this site. There are several ways in which you can opt-out of receiving such future email communications from us. First, we provide you with the opportunity to opt-out at the point where we request information from you, such as when you take action through our site. Second, when you set up an account on our Member Center, you also have the opportunity to specify the email subscriptions that you wish to receive or not receive.
