Meredith Meyers, Staff Scientist/Lab Manager
Meredith Meyers joined San Diego Coastkeeper in September 2014 as our water quality lab coordinator, and is now our staff scientist and lab manager. She oversees field monitoring, laboratory operations, water quality analyses, interpretations and program communications. She especially loves working with the outstanding team of volunteer field samplers and lab helpers.
Meredith is a trained ecologist with a background in long term ecosystem monitoring and assessment. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara and a PhD from the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia. Before turning her attention to San Diego’s watersheds, she studied water quality and its effects on coral reef, rocky intertidal, and open ocean communities.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Meredith has always been a water girl and loves snorkeling, fishing and kayaking. Out of the water, Meredith still tries to spend as much time outdoors as possible, whether it’s backyard bird watching or weekend hikes exploring San Diego’s diverse landscapes.
