Marketing and Communications
Jamie Hampton joined Coastkeeper in October 2009 as the director of marketing and communications. As of March 2012, Jamie became Coastkeeper’s marketing and communications consultant. She oversees the organization’s overall communication strategy as well as its public relations, marketing and online programs. After volunteering in Coastkeeper’s marketing department for nearly two years, Jamie left her position as an account supervisor at a public relations and advertising agency so she could employ her super marketing powers to help Coastkeeper protect San Diego’s oceans.
On her crusade to strengthen Coastkeeper’s brand, Jamie carries with her an oversized passion for social media and digital marketing, which is an effective way to share the organization’s mission without leaving a large carbon footprint. She also brings an award-winning history of grassroots marketing campaigns, to which she intends to add Coastkeeper’s campaigns.
In her previous roles, Jamie led national public relations, social media and marketing campaigns for clients such as NTN Buzztime, Electra Bicycles, Vet-Stem and Wilson Sporting Goods. She loves bicycling almost as much as she loves donuts, both of which were integral in her 1,400-mile bicycle camping tour of the west coast.
