Funder's Spotlight: SDG&E
SDG&E is committed to energizing the local community through three key areas: emergency preparedness and safety initiatives, environmental initiatives and civic leadership initiatives. This company provides energy-efficient solutions for both residential and business consumers, balancing the need to both utilize and protect the natural environment.
SDG&E partnered with San Diego Coastkeeper on increasing energy efficiency through the Smart Meter project. The Smart Meter project allows consumers to track and therefore minimize energy use.
In addition, SDG&E supports Project SWELL (Stewardship: Water Education for Lifelong Leadership), the goal of which is to promote awareness about San Diego’s watersheds and pollution prevention in San Diego schools. Project SWELL provides science teaching resources to K-6 teachers in the San Diego Unified School District at 130 schools and in the Oceanside Unified School District at 17 schools. Learn more at www.ProjectSWELL.org.
San Diego Coastkeeper thanks San Diego Gas & Electric for their support. We look forward to our continuing partnership in 2012.
